Employee Spotlight: David S. Field Representative Hancock, WI Why did you choose this career path in plant technology? “I grew up on a farm and have always enjoyed working in the fields and seeing the crops grow. I wanted a career where I played an integral role in the planting and harvesting. I find it rewarding to observe the progress of crops throughout the growing season, and finding solutions to all the challenges that arise with growing crops.” What does passion mean to you? “To me, passion is enthusiasm to deliver the highest quality product I can. It is going above and beyond for something I truly care about. Over the years that I have been a field supervisor, I have devoted a lot of time to developing productive relationships with our growers.” How do you define & measure success? “I define success in three major ways: safety, quality of product and successful relationships with our growers. All three of these are integral to one another. Without our growers, there is no product to provide to our customers, so maintaining healthy relationships and providing high returns to our growers is essential.” Why is your work important to you? “As populations continue to increase, the demand to meet the food needs will continue to become more challenging. By working with our growers, seed providers, pest controllers and others, we can increase our yields and help feed more people. Knowing I play a small role in providing people safe and affordable food helps to keep me motivated and strive for success in my daily job.”
